On Call
Hi, I’m back here after a long break - oops! It wasn’t a fun break as many of you may be thinking; it was only a break from writing on Student Consult, the rest was work only. Actually I was going through my semester exams and, as far as exams go, there is a horrible system in place here in India; I don’t know anywhere else in the world where medical students have to write three page answers for their board questions to get a pass! Any how, I managed to get through all of the sheets of paper which we were given at the start of the exam each day and of course filled them with whatever I knew about in relation to the question. After a week of writing daily for a good three hours at a time my hands were a little sore and aching and Carpel-tunnel syndrome would come into my mind every time my hand felt a little bit numb.

Thankfully life was not all that bad because there were Sundays! (In India Saturdays are not classed as weekends, they are just like any other week day). After our semester exams we had our clinical-case based exams. These started early in the morning and ended late in the evening and luckily I got some rather interesting cases.

Anyway this all is coming to an end (at least for now) and I have one more exam in two day’s time and then I’m free. Hold on - I have my USMLE Step1 exam on 27th October so I’m kinda not that free after all! Hope and pray that it all goes well for me…

Off Duty
You can imagine how cool your free time is when you have an exam looming over you in the morning! To say the least, what I did in my free time was studying and sleeping, if you consider that to be an activity!

Bye for now
